Absolutely fascinating - although I don't know what to make of it!

Nice work...

So what could cause people to lose interest in three major religions all at the same time?

Judging by these results......  Christmas, I woud say.  Interest seems to increase steadily from the middle of the year onwards, then a sudden dip over Christmas and the New Year.  (Probably says more about general internet use!)  Renewed interest at the start of the year gradually declines again, forming a trough six months on before rising again.  Islam, it seems, works to a different timetable - there's a regular upswing during Ramadan, for instance.  I suspect a search using Arabic script would be more illuminating for that one.  Stats which deviate from these annual cycles seem to parallel events in the news.    The peak search period for 'Islam', for example, was contemporaneous with the publication of highly negative articles in the Israeli and US online press.  (The 2006 Ramadan period actually coincided with the Pope Benedict contraversy, which no doubt influenced things a bit.)  The 'intelligent design' stats chart the meteoric media campaigning of a certain think-tank.  And all the buzz about 'progress' - in the second half of 2005 - proves especially ironic (and instructive) when you discover the reason for it (!)

But I prefer your initial reaction - "I don't know what to make of it!" - this is, after all, intended as an artwork.

Thanks  Smiley
