The start of the twenty-first century is likely to be viewed as predominately an age of individualism and self-gratification. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that our passionate need to satisfy our self-interest whilst ignoring the plight of others is leading to catastrophic and possibly irreversible damage to other individuals, less fortunate communities, and the global environment as a whole. |

The human need to create meaning and gain control over their situation is universally felt and desired to one degree or another. For the majority of recorded human history, this need has been met by the various religious and spiritual traditions that abound across the globe. In today's increasingly secular world, a world in which organised religion and faith are looked upon with a growing sense of skepticism, people are still searching to find something that fills the void that would have once (and in many cases still is of course) filled by religion and spirituality... |
