"I like the tree position best," says five-year-old Sadhana, standing perfectly still on one leg, hands clasped in prayer. She is one of a row of children perched like stalks on miniature yoga mats as calming music tinkles in the background. Half an hour earlier, when a crocodile of 21 four- and five-year-olds filed into the room, this had looked like any other school. In a nine-year-old litigation between ISKCON-Bangalore and ISKCON-Mumbai over the ownership of the Sri Radha Krishna Temple on Hare Krishna Hill, Rajajinagar, the Bangalore city civil court on Friday declared ISKCON-Bangalore to be the absolute owner of the Temple and that ISKCON-Mumbai has no right to interfere in ISKON-Bangalore's affairs. A 24-year-old American woman was allegedly molested at an ISKCON temple guest house in north west Mumbai, police said on Wednesday. The US national has filed a complaint with the Juhu police station stating that on January 31 an unidentified "Indian" forcibly entered her room at the guest house when she was alone and molested her, they said. The leader of a Hari Krishna-affiliated aid organization in Cambodia was to appeal a conviction for molesting a 12-year-old girl, a Phnom Penh court said Thursday. Police said US national Thomas Rapanos Wayne, head of a Hare Krishna aid group, was found naked in the company of two girls, aged 12 and 16, when he was arrested in a guest house in the capital in March. On Saturday, June 14, more than five thousand festival-goers braved the scattered thunderstorms and downpours to attend the annual Ratha Yatra parade and Festival of India. Dr. Hansa Medley wakes up at 3:30 a.m. once a week and walks to the Hare Krishna Temple just around the corner from her small bungalow in northwest Houston. There she joins her mother, sister and three other devotees to prepare the temple's nine deities for the day. Firing another salvo against ISKCON monks, nearly hundred priests of Sri Jagannath Temple here sat on a dharna on Thursday demanding a ban on the entry of converted Hindus into the 12th century shrine. In a memorandum to Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Sri Jagannath Sevayat Sammilanee (SJSS) said only "Hindus by birth" should be allowed into the temple, one of the four important for Hindus in the country. A Rath Yatra in Delhi has its resonance in Puri. The Jagannath Rath Yatra organised by ISKCON in Delhi on Sunday is untimely, say Jagannath devotees. Juhu police has registered an offence against the officials of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple in Juhu for erecting an arc type hoarding across the road despite being told by traffic police not to do so. A Ratha Yatra (chariot festival) organised by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) drew hundreds of people in New York. The festival, the 31st held here on Saturday, is modelled after the Ratha Yatra organised every year in Puri, Orissa, by the famed Jagannath temple there. Compared to the other metros, the last one year has seen a remarkable growth of the spiritual phenomenon in Kolkata. And if one goes by the figures alone, the city elders and the youth have got hooked to the meditation sessions being conducted free of cost by the International Society for Krishna Conciousness (ISKCON) in various parts of the city. At present, the ISKCON is conducting meditation sessions in more than 64 centres located in various parts of the city like Behala, Lake Town, Dum Dum, Howrah, Salt Lake, Jadavpur, Minto Park, etc. And the ISKCON authorities said that by the end of this year the number of meditation centres would be increased to 100. Addressing newspersons on Wednesday President of ISKCON, Mangalore said that ISKCON yearly holds Jagannath Rath Yathras all over the world in such major cities as Moscow, London, New York, Paris, Los Angels, Rome and in India at Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai, New Delhi, Coimbatore, Bangalore etc. The special attraction of this festival is the participation of Safari group of devotees(devotees from 50 different countries who are traveling Indian holy places) who will perform Bhajan, Kirthan during the procession. The Delhi High Court Monday imposed a fine of Rs.50,000 on the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for copyright violation in staging Ram Leela, the traditional play on the life of Hindu Lord Ram, based on the script of a cultural organisation. In his decree order, Justice A.K. Sikri held the ISKCON guilty of violating the Copyright Act and asked it to pay Rs.50,000 as compensation within four weeks after it staged Ram Leela based on the script of the capital-based Sriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra.
